Cross-over between The Owl & Co and The Jungle Bunch

The characters of two independant TV series mix in a totally crazy TV special!

Synopsis

INT. TOULOUSE RESTAURANT– NIGHT

The scene takes place in a restaurant on Capitole Square in Toulouse renowned for its white bean stew.

The producers of a local animated film studio, TAT, have invited their Parisian counterparts from STUDIO HARI to join them for a convivial dinner on the occasion of the Cartoon Forum which is being held in the Pink City.

The two groups of producers – each of which has a series in production for France Télévisions, The Owl & Co. for STUDIO HARI, and The Jungle Bunch for TAT – are theoretically competitors on the market, but they’ve known each other since their beginnings and have mutual respect for one another.

That night, as they celebrate the success of their respective characters, a far-fetched idea seems to appear from out of nowhere.

TOULOUSE PRODUCER #1
(Toulouse accent) What would really be funny, is if one day the JUNGLE BUNCH were to open the door, and discover… THE OWL!

PARISIAN PRODUCER #1
(Parisian accent) That would be fabulous! The Stick Bug would have invented a sort of teleportation device, and of course the Owl would have walked into it without paying attention while chasing a caterpillar…

TOULOUSE PRODUCER #2
A crossover?

TOULOUSE PRODUCER #3
Oh boy. Complicated. Technically speaking, a real pain…

PARISIAN PRODUCER #2
The script would be a nightmare…

PARISIAN PRODUCER #1
Not to mention royalties… Forget it!

TOULOUSE PRODUCER #1
Hey, it’s not for nothing that it’s never been done!

EVERYONE
(sigh) What a shame, it would be awesome…

In the end, after this dinner, STUDIO HARI and TAT each produced a special 13-minute “crossover” for TV where the characters and universes of the two series, “The Owl& Co.” and “The Jungle Bunch,” meet at last.

In the crossover produced by STUDIO HARI, Maurice, the penguin-tiger (from the Jungle Bunch) and his adopted son, Junior, the tiger fish, visit the Owl’s forest – a world that is poles apart from their usual universe. After receiving a blow on the head, Maurice mistakes the Owl’s neighbors (the Frog, the Stick Bug, the Sheep and the Bat) for members of the Jungle Bunch. But the “crank” with odd behavior is tolerated by everyone (even the Owl), for his Karate skills turn out to be priceless when strange caterpillar-dragons invade the forest!!
